Terry is the postmaster at Fairleigh Post Office.

'I've been with the Post Office here in this building for 2 years.

'I went to the local school at Arbourthorne and know the local area really well. It got a bit run down, but the coucil have renewed the old houses, and pulled some down. If I shut the Post Office, where will they get their money from?

'The Post Office is a meeting place - people enjoy coming here. It keeps the business going and keeps the community going.

'I get down to the social club, we have fishing matches and excursions to the horse racing. If I walk up to Manor Top I'll get stopped 8-9 times by people just to talk.

'It used to get a bad press, but the community's changed. Bellway Homes built some new houses, which attracted new people to the area from all over - its been a good thing. New people have come from Poland, the Czech Republic, they've settled in here.

'The best thing is the new properties - they've decent rents, and a lot are private.'
